Original The Lowdown, Vol. 3 No. 2, May 1957, published by Beacon Publications.

A fantastic example of the sensational celebrity/scandal magazines that filled American newsstands in the 1950s. The bright yellow-and-red cover is loaded with incredible period headlines, with features on some of the biggest names of the era.

🎸 Elvis Presley – “What Elvis Presley Never Wants Told”

🏎️ James Dean – “The Girl James Dean Was Supposed to Marry”

⭐ Kim Novak – “Scoop: Kim Novak and Her ‘Stick-Up’ Romeo”

💃 Lili St. Cyr – “The Indecent Act That Jailed Lili St. Cyr”

🎬 Marie McDonald feature

🇮🇹 Silvana Pampanini feature

🥊 Floyd Patterson feature

👑 Princess Margaret feature

🎭 Broderick Crawford feature

This is especially appealing as a piece of Elvis and James Dean memorabilia from 1957 — Elvis was only a year into his explosion as a national phenomenon, while the James Dean story appeared less than two years after his death.

Condition: Very Good vintage condition overall. Complete with pages intact. Bright, colorful cover displays very well for its age, with expected edge and corner wear, small creases, handling wear and age-related toning to the interior pages. Please examine all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
