Amateurs 1930: Secret and Intimate Images of Debauchery Between the Wars

Amateurs 1930: Secret and Intimate Images of Debauchery Between the Wars

By Alexandre Dupouy

During the 1930s, affordable cameras became increasingly common in households, allowing everyday people to document their lives in ways previously unimaginable. Alongside this technological shift came a growing spirit of personal freedom, resulting in a fascinating collection of private photographs that captured flirtation, romance, humor, and intimate moments between consenting adults.

Many of these images survived hidden away in family albums, boxes, and drawers, while countless others were lost or destroyed over time. Collected and preserved by Alexandre Dupouy, this volume presents 100 rare vintage photographs that offer a unique glimpse into private life during the years between the World Wars.

Both playful and revealing, these images serve as a historical record of changing social attitudes and personal expression during a transformative era.
