Easyriders Magazine No.50 August 1977 – Vintage Biker Harley Davidson Motorcycle Culture

The Big Five-0! August 1977 marked the 50th issue of Easyriders Magazine, and it was packed with legendary articles and outlaw biker culture. This milestone issue also kicked off Easyriders’ race sponsorship, as Bob George, Dave Campos (already hailed as the fastest man in the world), Leo Payne, Paul Larquier, Dennis & Tim Wetzel, Tonto Bob, and Travis Goldsworth made a dramatic bid for a land speed record. Their silver-bullet machine, decked out in stars & stripes and powered by twin 91-c.i. water-cooled Harley-Davidson engines, aimed for 303 mph but fell short. History was being made — and soon, Easyriders’ Streamliner would set the record at 322 mph! You can still see that record-setting machine on display at the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum today.

Highlights in this issue:

  • Two pages of club cards — in full color
  • Wild biker action stories
  • History of flippin’ da bone
  • Tech tip of the month
  • Miraculous Mutha tells how to make love
  • Easyriders tries to break land speed record
