This book closes the quadrilogy of collections of amateur photographs that we publish from our collections. Despite the poverty of the eroticism of the 1950s, there were many libertines who secretly organized an underground resistance leading to the sexual revolution. With conviction and panache, amateur photographers produce, using devices that are increasingly easy to handle, their sulfurous works, in the bedroom, at home, in the countryside and, consumer society obliges, in their car, this new democratic symbol of wealth and freedom. We will find about two hundred selected images, cheeky little “snapshots”, sparkling with humor and tenderness. The discovery of photos of loved ones in shameful situations has often led to family burnings in the name of respect, modesty and remembrance. Victims of the obscurantism of the following generations, all these images with their nostalgic and old-fashioned charm have therefore become particularly rare and precious.
